Real Money Seven Card Stud Poker
While being a good poker player does not require that you learn every type of poker available out there, you should at least try the main variants of the game and see if there isn’t one that you’re more suited for. You might find out that a game of 7 Card Stud is your favorite type of poker and that you’re more likely to make money from it than from other types of poker. Whether it’s simply the fact that you’re enjoying the game more and you’re more likely to spend more time playing it, or the fact that its strategies are closer to your heart, 7 Card Stud might just be the game that allows you to make a living by playing poker.
This game is the third poker game in terms of popularity, behind Texas Hold’em and Omaha. A couple of other variants of Stud poker exist, including Razz, 5 Card Stud, Hi Lo 7 Card Stud and the standard version of 7 Card Stud that we’re going to talk about here.

The Basics of Real Money Seven Card Stud
As a beginner in this game, what you have to know first of all is that you will get a total of 7 cards that you will use to make a hand of 5 cards. It doesn’t matter what cards you use out of those 7, as long as you get the highest possible hand from them.
The game begins when the players put up the ante. Next, the dealer will deal three cards for each player, two of which will be hole cards (face down) and one being face up. A small bet is placed next, by the player that has the card placed face-up with the lowest value. The other players bet in order, starting from the left of the player that placed the initial bet. The players have the option to call, to raise and to fold, as they see fit, during each betting round.
Once the round of betting is done, the dealer gives each player an additional face-up card. Another betting round takes place with the first to bet being the player that has the highest value cards that are face-up. Two additional rounds take place, with the fifth and the sixth cards being placed face-up, and with additional betting after each one. The seventh card (the last one to be offered by the dealer), is offered with the face down, and followed by the last betting round.
The game concludes with a showdown of hands. The winner is the player that has the best hand of 5 cards out of the 7 that he received from the dealer.
As you can see, it’s not difficult to understand the game and its rules. Being a good 7 Card Stud player is not easy though and the game might take you some time to master. The same applies to other types of Stud poker.
A complete poker player should at least learn the game and try to know its basics. While not everyone will enjoy it, as a popular type of poker it’s part of game and no player is complete without it. It’s not only a required game if you want to play H.O.R.S.E., but also a fun game to try if you want a break from Texas Hold’em or Omaha.
